Love the length of these 11 inchers! And the elastic waist is ok—I am not usually a fan of this kind of waist, but it sits at the right spot. Lots of Kuhl pants sit a bit too low for me.

I'm 57, 5'4", 140lbs. Size small fit perfectly. I did try the medium but too baggy. I hate my legs/knees, and these shorts give the fit and coverage I want without making me look frumpy.
